CA Foundation: Common Mistakes to avoid during preparation

CA Foundation journey is one of the crucial stages in the CA exams, being the first stage, it brings in its own set of fear and expects students to have conceptual clarity for the subjects. In this blog we shall explore on common mistakes to avoid during CA Foundation preparation.

1. Not giving due importance to the classes and skipping or bunking classes frequently.
2. Not paying enough attention in the class and thinking that the concepts shall be dealt with later at home.
3. Not being able to keep pace with the classes i.e. not revising the concepts taught in the class at home.
4. Relying just on classes and skipping or ignoring the self-study part.
5. Just like classes even practice at home is mandatory. Making self-study practice registers and practicing all the questions at home is a must.
6. Revision is the key.
7. Not being able to complete the entire question paper in 3 hours is not acceptable at all.
8. Not able to realize the importance of test series conducted at Mitkary’s CAPS.
9. Apart from the question and answers from the notes you also need to solve extra questions from the latest RTP’s, MTP’s and past exam paper.
10. For the objective papers solve only the questions that you are confident enough so that you don’t end up with many negative marks.
11. For subjective papers you need loads of writing practice. This writing practice shall be of great help to fetch good marks.
12. Smart preparation and hard work are the key to success.
13. Always manage the 3 hours (for subjective papers) and 2 hours (for objective papers) effectively.
14. Manage the 15 minutes reading time for your subjective papers effectively. Cross out the question that you shall leave in choice.
15. Also Q.1. for subjective papers of Accountancy and Business Laws is mandatory so don’t waste time in reading it in the 15 minutes allotted as you have to read it compulsorily later.

I hope this blog helps with your CA Foundation Exam preparation.
