CA Intermediate is the 2 nd stage for CA exams. It has the following papers.

The paper shall be partially objective and partially subjective (30% case study based MCQ’s and 70% descriptive questions) in all papers. It shall be a closed book test for all the papers. There would be no negative marking for wrong answer to MCQ.

Paper 1: Advanced Accounting (100 marks).
This is a practical subject and the student must understand the concepts thoroughly, so that you are able to solve the problems well. Apart from solving questions in the class you must solve the questions in your self – study session. Make a practice register for your home as well. Don’t ignore the theory in the practical subjects as it fetches you good marks. Since the paper is partially objective and partially subjective (30% case study based MCQ’s and 70% descriptive questions) so you can grab marks in the objective questions.
Paper 2: Corporate and Other Laws (100 marks).
This is a theory subject and can fetch good marks if studied the right way. Conceptual clarity, regular revision, making your own notes, revision charts, case study book, definition book are the aids that shall help you always. Regular attention in the class and regular home study always helps.
Paper 3: Taxation (100 marks).
Again, a practical subject and something really easy and worth learning. Understanding the theory and then solving the related concepts. Make charts and revision notes helps with last minute revision.
Paper 4: Cost and Management Accounting (100 marks).
A practical subject in which conceptual clarity is of prime importance, solving the questions thoroughly, understanding the theory and making short notes for theory as well as the formulae is the key here.
Paper 5: Auditing and Ethics (100 marks).
A theory subject which has lots of practical exposure. Sometimes you might feel it a bit bore but we have to tackle this subject with conceptual clarity, short notes, writing practice of questions and answers, charts and great revision techniques.
Paper 6: Financial Management and Strategic Management (100 marks).
This paper contains two subjects Financial Management which is practical and Strategic Management which is theory. For Financial Management in which conceptual clarity is of prime importance, solving the questions thoroughly, understanding the theory and making short notes for theory as well as the formulae is the key here. For Strategic Management concepts, short notes, charts, writing practice etc. helps.
Some common pointers for each subject:
1. Solve the RTP’s, MTP’s and past exam question papers thoroughly.
2. Manage the first 15 minutes reading time of each exam perfectly always.
3. 1 day before exam is important so revise thoroughly.
4. Self-study is always mandatory.
